5th stage of 'Blow of Zolfaqar' war games starts in Persian Gulf

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency) -- The 5th stage of the Iranian army's extensive war games codenamed 'Blow of Zolfaqar' was kicked off in the southern waters of the country Wednesday morning with the destruction of floating naval targets by coast-to-sea missiles.

During this stage of the maneuvers, conducted under the supervision of the Iranian army's Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Seyed Rahim Mousavi, ground force troops destroyed enemy targets by the help of very special systems and modern tactics innovated by the military experts of the ground force.

The successful use of the tactical arsenals and weapons with high penetration and destruction capabilities by the army troopers was another specialty of this stage.

The weapons have been newly designed and produced by the research teams of the Iranian ground force and defense industries and they succeeded in destroying all the naval targets with high precision.

Along the said operations, other divisions of the Iranian ground force were deployed in different parts of the country and started use of modern battle tactics under the supervision and leadership of four central command headquarters of Zolfaqar.
